Horris Hill is a thriving day and boarding school in the Berkshire countryside. Established in 1888, we’ve built a strong reputation for academic excellence, becoming one of the top preparatory schools in the UK. Horris Hill is part of Forfar Education, founded by former Queen’s Royal Hussar, John Forsyth. Understanding the challenges faced by military families, we offer exceptional boarding facilities and pastoral care, along with one of the largest bursaries in the country to serving armed forces personnel and veterans - boarding parents in receipt of CEA pay only 10% of the full boarding fee. We offer a 40% discount for boarders (without CEA) and a 30% discount for day pupils (from Reception), available to new families.
We are proud of this year's 100% success rate in placing pupils into top-tier schools. Our pupils have secured places at prestigious institutions throughout the UK, including Winchester, Harrow, and Radley. Alongside this, we are committed to developing pupils of all abilities, providing academically rigorous and exciting lessons that engage and challenge.
In September 2022, Horris Hill opened its doors to girls for the first time. We are delighted that many girls have joined us for this new chapter for the school and are
confident they will go on to be as successful as our boys have been for over 130 years.
Happy children thrive. Our attention is not only on providing academic excellence but in delivering excellence in pastoral care too.
