Oakham School offers a distinctly holistic British education in a safe, welcoming and historic market town in the heart of England. As one of the UK’s leading co educational boarding schools, we have a long tradition of caring for pupils from overseas, and around half of our 850 students are boarders, including many who join for Sixth Form. Our boarding houses provide modern, comfortable accommodation, excellent pastoral care, and a warm sense of community. Specialist House staff work closely with families to support transition, wellbeing and academic progress, ensuring every student feels at home and cared for. Students thrive academically with the freedom to choose a pathway that suits their ambitions. At Sixth Form, students can study A-levels, BTECs or the globally recognised IB Diploma, a popular option for internationally minded families. Most Oakham graduates progress to leading UK universities, with a growing number securing places worldwide.

Life at Oakham is rich and varied. Students enjoy an extensive co-curricular programme that encourages leadership, creativity and adventure. Saturdays include lessons and competitive fixtures; Sundays offer space for Chapel, socialising, activities and downtime.

Oakham School’s Military Allowance Scheme offers reduced fees for forces families receiving the Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) from the Ministry of Defence.  Currently (January 2025) families pay £1,135 per term.
